We’re excited to share that Community TechAid has partnered with Carnival Internet UK, a broadband provider with a passion for sustainability and social impact.

This partnership supports our mission to tackle digital exclusion and reduce e-waste by providing refurbished devices to people in South London who need them most. From families and job seekers to refugees and students, digital access is a lifeline, and Carnival Internet UK is helping us get more devices into the hands of those who need them.

Digital poverty is complex and deeply rooted in wider inequalities. Many people simply can’t afford the high cost of devices or reliable internet access, an issue made worse by the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Others lack the digital skills or training to use tech confidently. And for marginalised groups, including those facing social, racial, or geographic inequality, the barriers are often even higher. At Community TechAid, we believe access to digital tools, and the skills to use them, should never be out of reach.

Carnival Internet UK is committed to digital inclusion. As part of their pledge, they contribute 1% of every customer’s monthly bill to support initiatives like ours, helping to provide devices and connectivity to underserved communities. They’re also using their platform to raise awareness and encourage tech donations, making it easy for their customers to support causes that matter.

Olly Sedden, Director of Product, Commercial and Marketing at Dotlines UK, said: “This partnership with Community TechAid aligns with our mission to ensure digital access is a right, not a privilege. By donating a percentage of all our customers’ bills from our high-quality broadband, we can support the repurposing of devices to those that need them most; not only doing our bit to help bridge the digital divide but also leading the way in sustainable and socially responsible business practices from day one.”

This collaboration means more donated tech gets a second life, fewer devices end up in landfill, and more people across South London can get connected to vital services, education, and opportunities.
