Linda Heiden

Founder & Chair of Trustees

Linda is a retired IT training specialist (final 10 years at LSE), community organiser (Streatham Mutual Aid, Streatham Labour Party, Clapham Park Foodbank), carer and refugee charity trustee (Streatham DropIn Centre for Refugees & Asylum Seekers). Her MA Anthropology of Development focused upon the actual impact of NGO interventions, and why projects go well, badly, and/or create unintended consequences. Her research focused upon the successful introduction of computers into Iranian schools by an Iranian NGO in the teeth of opposition from the clerical establishment. That research (in Iran) and her experience of work with voluntary organisations were motivating factors in both founding TechAid and conceiving TechAid clubs.
